ARTPUNK CLUB PICKS ---- WEEK OF JULY 15th, 2019

The best art for your buck in Portland, for the week of July 15th–21st, 2019

Shakespeare in repertory and a mini-festival to close out Summerfest!

Thursday, July 18th @7:30 PM

Troilus and Cressida

Salt and Sage

@ Shaking the Tree

823 SE Grant St

$PWYC

Cressida and Troilus love one another but what is the love between a traitor's daughter and a prince worth in a world seven years into the Trojan war?

Salt and Sage offers sliding scale ticket prices to accommodate multiple budgets. All seats are general admission.

Why We’re Excited:

We'll be honest: we still haven't really forgiven ourselves for missing the Brilliant Traces/Gruesome Playground Injuries twofer at Salt and Sage earlier this year. We have long loved Alwynn Accuardi's work as an intimacy choreographer (most recently in Beirut!), so we're especially psyched to see her perform in the two rotating repertory pieces with Salt & Sage. The other, Antony & Cleopatra, is also on sale now, also PWYC, and—spoiler alert!—one of next week's picks ;-)

Ruckus

CoHo Summerfest

@ CoHo 2257 NW Raleigh Street

$25

It’s the fest within the fest! It’s a variety show. It’s a grab bag. It’s a free for all. A RUCKUS is what it is. Danish accordion divas, heads in handbags, musical eye surgery, spoken word cartwheels, contemporary dance, palindrome machines, life journeys, complex choices, amplified sound, Afro-Indigenous movement, loop stations – it’s Summerfest Ruckus! Featuring Catherine Egan, Jet Black Pearl, Kayla Banks, Ashley Morton, Claire Rigsby & Keegan Kyle. More local artists announced soon!

ANYTHING. COULD. HAPPEN.

Artists may vary each evening. Full lineup will be released soon!

Ruckus runs July 18th-21st.

Why We’re Excited: The final show of CoHo Summerfest! Have you been eating up CoHo's zany, clown-heavy summer spread this year? Good news! They're capping things off with a potluck of hijinx, including a performance by Artpunk Club pals Claire Rigsby and Keegan Kyle. We don't really know what to expect, and for this show that feels just about perfect.
